White Bridge Farm

Whether you are looking for adventure or simply a break away from the city, let White Bridge Farm be your choice of destination. Situated between the R46 and the R43, we are well positioned to visit either Tulbagh, Wolseley or Ceres. We will guarantee that you have a brilliant time. Recharge your soul and rediscover romance - a holiday at the farm will add years to your life... Our bouquet of accommodation is situated on a working fruit farm, on the banks of the Breede River. We are surrounded by breathtaking mountain and orchard views. The popular river cabins "Dixon's View" and "Otter's Landing" (sleeps 2/4) are all nestled amongst the orchards adjacent to the river on White Bridge Farm. We also have Whiskey Yankee Cottage (sleeps 4/5), also on the banks of the river but close to the Olive Rock Wedding and Function Venue and even closer is the Annex unit (4/6 sleeper). We also have two double guest rooms, bathroom en suite situated close to the main homestead on the premises. We are a mere 90 minute drive from Cape Town - approachable through various beautiful mountain pass drives. Whilst here, enjoy wading in the crystal clear river pools or a game of tennis on our garden court (at the main house). There are fantastic walks on the farm and excellent hiking in the surrounding mountains. Bird watching is brilliant and fishing exceptional!!! We are very well placed to visit the towns of Wolseley, Tulbagh and Ceres and experience the jewels that these towns have to offer. For golfers there is a great little course in Ceres 10 Km away and the exciting new Zipline Adventures ( longest Zip slide in Africa) for those who are not. Tulbagh has some wonderful boutique wines, art and a wonderful theatre. There is a challenging mountain bike ride near Wolseley which formed part of the 2010 and 2011 Cape Epic.

Wild Olive Farm

Location Wild Olive Farm is a working olive farm offering fully equipped self-catering cottages, all with spectacular views of the beautiful Witzenberg mountain range which are snow capped in the Winter months. We are situated approximately an hour and 15 minutes from Cape Town and within 10 minutes drive of the historic town of Tulbagh. Activities Guests can enjoy the peace and quiet that rural farm life offers. Whilst on the farm guests can walk, ride their mountain bikes, bird watch, and star gaze. During the hot summer months swimming and canoeing are popular activities in the farm dams. If guests bring their own rods and fishing tackle then they can fish for carp, bream and bass. The town of Tulbagh itself offers excellent restaurants, numerous wine cellars, olive estates, museums and several arts & crafts shops. Historical Church Street is definitely worth a visit as it boasts more historical Cape Dutch monuments in one street than anywhere else in South Africa. For the more adventurous, hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, 4x4 trails, golf and zip-line adventures are all available within 20 minutes drive of the farm. Accommodation Wild Olive Farm offers three self catering cottages suitable for groups and families alike. Two cottages sleep up to four people whilst our larger cottage sleeps six. All our cottages are fully furnished and equipped with everything necessary to ensure a comfortable stay including duvets, towels, cutlery, crockery, jetmaster fireplaces and private braai facilities. All you need to bring along is food and drink. Tea, coffee and sugar are also provided.

La Bruyere Farm Cottages

La Bruyere Farm is beautifully situated against the Witzenberg mountain range, approximately 9km from Tulbagh - an attractive and historic town set in the Boland mountains less than an hour and a half from Cape Town. The farm is 222 hectares with the upper part of the farm reaching into the natural fynbos and proteas of the Western Cape mountains. Other parts of the farm are established to wine grape vineyards, winter crops such as oats and a herd of Angus cattle. Every aspect of the farm offers breathtaking views which makes for a peaceful and relaxing place to be. There is a lovely dam with fresh mountain water running into it all year round with a deck to swim and fish from. Please bring your own swimming towels. Tulbagh is centrally situated in the Breede River Valley in the Western Cape which enables visitors to explore other surrounding areas without having to travel too far. Accommodation La Bruyere offers 2 self-catering cottages. The cottages are attractively and comfortably furnished. They are fully equipped with towels, linen, kitchen items, braai (barbeque) facilities with wood, and have their own private gardens. Both cottages have indoor wood-burning fire places with ample wood provided. Garden Cottage has 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds and 1 bedroom with a double bed. Sleeps 6 people. Accommodation On offer at this neat working farm with wheat, vines, olives, sheep and cattle are 3 luxury self-catering cottages all fronted by an open vista of green fields merging into blue mountains - an appealing contrast of the soft and rugged. The cottages are light and airy, fully equipped and decorated in natural hues and textures. Wide windows and double doors drench the interior in light, terracotta floors inject the rustic country edge, offset by warm sisal mats, natural cream curtains, crisp white linen and thick feather down duvets. River Edge Accommodation

At River Edge you are surrounded by mountains that turn pink at sunset, vineyards stretching to the horizon, fynbos alive with small wildlife, and the Breede River on your doorstep - and yet you are only an hour away from Cape Town. These beautiful stone-clad river houses offer a luxurious, relaxing and tranquil stay - the ideal break for the jaded urbanite seeking an authentic country experience. These houses boast a trendy open-plan kitchen, lounge with a cozy fireplace, two - three beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms that are the perfect bolt holes for romantic getaways. The interior has been given a contemporary kick with a palette of neutrals peppered with bright colored soft furnishings. The Milkshed

The spacious cottage can accommodate seven adults with comfort and ease.There are three double en-suite bedrooms, two with bath and shower facilities and the third a bath only. All bathrooms are stocked with toiletries to pamper yourself. Panel heaters and air conditioners throughout ensure your comfort. The inside braai/ barbecue room (equipped with grids, tongs, wood and firelighters) is the ideal spot for late night conversation enjoying the company of friends. There is also an outside braai/barbecue facility. The lounge has a large fireplace, the TV is full DSTV (no need to bring your card) there is a DVD player and music centre for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped there is no need to bring anything other than food and personal toiletries. You will be constantly reminded of nature, surrounded by mountains and be able to take walks amongst the roses with the sound of water throughout the garden teeming with local bird life. You may even want to do a spot of fishing in the dam and if you are up to it, take a hike to the big waterfall 3km away.   We invite you to come and experience all this first hand. Kloofzicht Estate Accommodation

If you are looking for self-catering accommodation in the Western Cape, then Kloofzicht Estate Country Guesthouse is the place for you. The setting is ideal for weddings, birthday parties and special occasions or simply as a relaxing getaway. Kloofzicht Estate is the first wine estate as you approach the valley from the Nuwekloof pass (R46) and is about 4km before the Tulbagh Village. This self-catering Guesthouse includes The Farmhouse, The Loft and two Cottages and is set in the tranquil Tulbagh valley totally surrounded by mountains on all sides. This is known as the secluded valley for good reason as you won't pass through Tulbagh on your way to anywhere. It’s a welcome hiatus and the ideal weekend escape if you’re in the Western Cape. THE FARMHOUSE The double storey thatched FARMHOUSE sleeps 8 to 11 people. It consists of 2 double en-suite bedrooms, a twin room, a large open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area and a guest loo downstairs with 2 more en-suite bedrooms and a lounge upstairs. The farmhouse kitchen has a huge fireplace, marble-topped cupboards, dishwasher and a double sized oven, with a washing machine & tumble dryer in the scullery. It leads onto the terraced entertainment area which has a 14 seater table and braai and then onto the 14m swimming pool, overlooking the dam, which is excellent for bass fishing and is safe for swimming and rowing. This area is ideal for small weddings, parties and events. THE LOFT THE LOFT accommodation is situated above the Kloofzicht Estate wine cellar. This spacious accommodation sleeps 6 to 9 people. THE COTTAGES For smaller groups, we have two inter-leading one-bedroom cottages, each with two daybeds in the open-plan dining/ kitchen area and a separate bathroom with shower. They sleep 2 to 4 people and are ideal for couples or small families and are fully equipped for self-catering. Each has their own braai outside and cozy fireplace inside. The entertainment/braai areas of the cottages are on opposite sides for privacy

Big Sky Villa is situated in the heart of Tulbagh town. Walking distance from the Central Business District. Tulbagh is famous for its historic Church Street, breathtaking scenery, wine and olive farms as well as wedding venues. The Villa is self-catering with a fully equipped kitchen and undercover barbeque on the stoep with a plunge pool. Lovely mountain views and a private garden. Big Sky Villa offers group accommodation with lots of extras to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. All 5 bedrooms are fitted with a ceiling fan and hair dryer (4 en-suite). The main bedroom is open plan with a spa bath, aircon, double shower and basins and a separate toilet. Welbedacht Game & Nature Reserve

Just over an hours drive from Cape Town, Welbedacht Game & Nature Reserve offers a stunning retreat in the countryside. The Reserve is just below the magnificent Winterhoek Mountains and offers a tranquil environment, nature walks, and an abundance of bird life, fauna and flora and spectacular views of the Tulbagh valley. The amply equipped, self catering cottages are tucked away between fynbos and pine trees and are all spaced well apart. They have shady verandas with mountain water plunge pools, log fireplaces and braai places as well as fresh linen and towels and a supply of firewood. ACCOMMODATION: ORCHARD COTTAGE Orchard Cottage has two bedrooms, each with a double bed and a bathroom en suite. The large open plan living area has a fire place, kitchen, dining area, sitting area and 2 single pull out beds. Double doors open onto a shady veranda and a neat garden enclosed by low stone walls and offering a view of the entire Tulbagh Valley. EAGLE COTTAGE Eagle Cottage has a bedroom with a double bed and a smaller children’s bedroom with 2 single bunk beds. The kitchen and living area are open plan with a fire place and doors leading to a covered veranda. There is a built in fire place outside, a mountain water splash pool on the veranda and low stone walls enclosing a natural garden. PINE COTTAGE This stone cottage offers an open plan bedroom with a double bed, a lounge and kitchen area and doors opening onto a covered veranda. There is an indoor fire place, an outdoor braai area and a private mountain water splash pool with views over the dam. STONE COTTAGE Stone cottage offers an open plan bedroom with a double bed, a lounge and kitchen area and doors opening onto a covered veranda. There is a fire place, an outdoor braai area, a mountain water splash pool and stunning valley and mountain views. THE BLUE BUTTERFLY The Blue Butterfly is a beautifully restored barn with facilities on the ground floor including a large lounge / studio / workshop area, a sitting room with a fire place, a covered veranda with tables and chairs and the self catering facilities in the form of a thatched, fully equipped, farm-style kitchen that can seat your whole party. The space is surrounded by lush gardens and enclosed by low stone walls. Within the garden is a secluded pergola, a fishpond as well as a fire pit and BBQ / braai area. The Blue Butterfly has a total of 7 bedrooms with a total of 18 single beds. The configuration is as follows: There are two en suite loft bedrooms upstairs that have separate entrances; each room with its own bathroom / shower and 4 single beds. There are two garden rooms each with their own separate entrance, a little sitting room, 2 single beds and a bathroom / shower en suite and finally, there are three davels (cabins) which each have 2 single beds and a bathroom / shower en suite. ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS: Walk the nature trails: There are several marked walking trails which meander through the fynbos, rhenosterveld and wetland areas of the reserve. The trails vary from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Swim in the dam: There is a large dam for swimming which is within walking distance of all units. The dam is surrounded by lush brush and trees and an abundance of bird life. Fishing: There is a second, smaller dam which is suitable for Bass fishing. Go mountain biking: There are many different trails and tracks for mountain bikers and these are maintained and managed by the Tulbagh Mountain Bike Club. Trails on Welbedacht are free to use for our mountain biking guests - additional outside trails are available for which a permit can be obtained. Explore the labyrinth: This unique labyrinth is beautifully integrated into its environment, a forest of blue gum trees, and is a wonderful space to feel a sense of connection with nature. View the wild life: A large variety of fauna, such as pole cats, caracal, cape fox and numerous buck species inhabit the Reserve, and it is also home to herds of springbok, zebra and wildebeest which form part of a program for re-introduction of game. Go birding: Between tall, leafy trees that provide shelter, to the fynbos with its vast variety of plant life and the savannah wetland grasses that provide an abundant food source for dozens of species of raptors and hundreds of other species, Welbedacht is a veritable haven for birds and bird watchers alike. Go horse riding: Just 5 minutes drive from Welbedacht, on one of our neighbouring farms, you can ride through farmland and orchards, or a little further a field you can explore specially created mountain trails with magnificent views of the mountains and valley.
